What is the best thing to feed my chickens?
The basis of any good chicken diet is a high quality layers pellet.
WCF Layers Pellets 20Kg £7.99 provides your chickens with the right amount of protein and mineral to keep them laying eggs!
Pellets contain: wheat, salt, maize, sunflower seed and oats.
Feeding your chicken pellets ensures that they are getting vital vitamins, nutrients and minerals to keep them healthy.
This is especially important if your chickens don't have much outdoor space because they won't be able to get minerals and salt from the ground.
In addition to their corn diet of pellets you can feed them grains such as corn or wheat to give them some variety. Grits, especially oyster shells are also beneficial.
Chickens love fruit and vegetables and you can give them this daily - vegetable peels, bananas, apple corers, carrots and broccoli are all good. You are safe to feed chickens pretty much any vegetable or fruit except any raw green peels (such as green potato peel) or any citric fruits such as oranges or lemons.
