WCF was established over 120
years ago as an agricultural co-operative by a group of farmers close to the
natural beauty of the Lake District and whilst the business has grown and
diversified over the years the rural Cumbrian countryside remains our home.
Today WCF is a thriving group of businesses operating within a range of sectors
across the UK with a passionate group of employee owners at its heart.
Our own brand products are made
right here in the UK, contain only quality ingredients, and sell through our
stores to thousands of loyal customers. Our Lakes Collection range was
developed and designed by an internal team who were passionate about bringing
great quality dog feed to our customers.
In our stores we also stock an
extensive range of branded products aimed at satisfying the requirements of
those who live in a rural community or aspire to a country way of life.
At WCF Pet & Equestrian we
believe life is better with animals, and we want to make our animal friends as
happy as they make us. We welcome dogs into our stores and our workplaces.
The WCF team are passionate about
all pets and have used their nutritional expertise to bring you an exclusive
selection of high-quality, complete dog and cat food. They strive to provide
your pets with a product that they not only love, but that helps to provide
them with a healthy, balanced diet.
The vast majority of our team are
animal owners and countryside lovers, and together, we are here to support you
and your pets in our stores and our website. Many of our own brand products are
tested and used by our team so we are confident they deliver the desired
benefits.

Many of our customers started
using our own brand Lake Collection dog food whilst on holiday in the beautiful
rural locations surrounding our stores. At their request, we have developed the
WCF Pet & Equestrian website to enable all of our customers to now shop
online and have your Dog and Cat food
delivered direct to your door.
Whether you live local to our
stores, or at the other end of the country, we deliver throughout the UK
meaning that your pets can enjoy our own brand products wherever you live. We
also offer a range of Guides to help you choose the right food for your pet, and regularly post advice on
keeping your pets fit, healthy and safe.
We have eight WCF Pet &
Equestrian Stores across the North West of England and Southern Scotland
managed by a team of employee owners.
Each of our stores stocks an
extensive range of branded and own branded feed, equipment, animal healthcare,
clothing, toys and accessories. Whether you own one dog or a flock of hens,
enjoy watching the wild birds feeding through the window or galloping your
horse across the fells, you can find what you’re looking for at one of our
stores.
We are extremely proud of our
business and believe that within our stores we offer a unique, relaxed shopping
experience with a personalised welcome and expert advice always available but
never imposed. Every store has a friendly and knowledgeable team who are
passionate about animals and their wellbeing. They are ready to help with all

high-protein Lakes Legacy dog food; the high-quality, grain-free, Lakes Heritage; our veterinary-approved, sensitive, Lakes Pioneer; our Lakes Established, all-natural, hypoallergenic per food; our balanced Super Premium cat food; and our nutritious Wild Bird Food, Chicken Feed, and Duck Food.
We hope you and your pets love
them as much as we do. Many of our own teams wouldn’t use anything other than
our own food for their own animals and are some of our best advocates for the
feed.
Our location at the heart of
rural Cumbria is very special to us and we are delighted to be able to provide
local people with diverse and interesting roles in WCF. We regularly support
the Cumbrian community through partnerships with local charities such as the
Cumbria Community Foundation and Cumbria Wildlife Trust. Our individual stores
each have a nominated charity each year which we support with both cash and
product donations. We also support many of the local country and agricultural
shows with sponsorship and prizes. Within the business we encourage our teams
to take part in volunteering and fund-raising by matching what they raise with
a donation of our own.
